DescriptionThis figure is an example of a Chuchimilco, a type of figurine commonly found as grave offerings in the Chancay culture of the central coast of Peru. Chuchimilcos are often found in male/female pairs, with their characteristic stance being standing with their truncated arms raised.  The figures may have served as guardians to the deceased during the afterlife
