DescriptionThis firgure is most likely a worshipper or attendant of the Buddha, part of a group of attendant figures, and is associated with the painted stucco tradition of Hadda, Afghanistan. Her loose tunic over her lower garment is similar to the Hellenistic fashion adopted in Iran and brought into India by the Scythians. The textile design is indicated by traces of red pigment in a crosshatch pattern.
