Description

This fragment is probably one foot of an Athenian fenestrated tripod stand. It shows two warriors facing each other with their swords crossed, and their other hands raised to touch the heads of their opponent. The depiction of the figures in silhouette, and the headress (or hair) of the warriors is typical of the Late Geometric period.

The other feet of the stand would have displayed similar images.
