Description

Mummy label, wooden. Rhomboid with trapeziform offset at top, pierced at line of junction with body of label. Hole still retaining piece of coarse cord. Coniferous wood of uniformly dark brown. Incised inscription in Greek, punched with point of a burin.

Translation: "Remains of Apollonia (to be shipped) to Panopolis to Panechates the embalmer"
