DescriptionEmanuel Bowen, from his atlas entitled "Complete Atlas" published in London, England, 1752.  Provinces in four colour and surrounding areas in black on white show part of Tibet, "Corea" in east and "Chinese Tartary" in north.  In lower left corner, enclosed by rococo frame: "An acurate map of China.  Laid down from late surveys by Eman, Bowen.  Geogr. To his Majest."  To the right of frame a statue and jar with cover.  In lower right corner, leged of "British Statute Miles".  Written on back of frame, "From Gordons Geography", London 1754.
