DescriptionA long handled silver spoon with the cross of Agadez at the the end of the handle. The cross of Agadez as well as the body of the spoon are engraved with geometric and linear designs. The bowl of the spoon and the back are undecorated. This type of spoon was produced by Saidi Oumba after he moved to Niamey in the 1990s as a response to new types of markets available in the city. Spoons such as this would have been produced for the Western tourist market.
