DescriptionA silver ring with 17 protrusions, 7 of which have brass inlays of alternating shades. The bottom of the ring is flat and is engraved with linear decorations. Rings such as this could be worn by both men and women. The complexity and weight of the ring would identify the wearer as a person of wealth.
Such rings are made by Tuareg inadan, who forge them and decorate them with different metal inlays. Once forged, the jewelry is polished with water, soap and lemon juice.
