DescriptionIn a mixed French-English form, this cupboard has an unusual slightly bowed front. The top and base are separate units, with the top removable. The sides of the upper piece are tenoned but not pinned into the top of the lower piece. The plain slightly curved panels in the lower doors are retained by separate mouldings. The cupboard includes upper and lower section cornices similar to those on armoires, but Chippendale-derived bracketed base and feet. The English iron butt hinges are original, but the door keyhole plates are replacements.
